I'm personally disappointed in the format of the online consultation
so far. Discussion forums allow people to have a say, which is
necessary but not sufficient for policy consultation. In fact, it's
very far from being sufficient. Maybe it was all we had available for
discussion forums a few years ago, but Uservoice (or the similar but
FLOSS IdeaTorrent) took us beyond that format to something much more
consultative and productive.
However, the discussion forum serves a purpose, and I'm glad they're
at least doing that.
