[d at DCC] Canada and UGC/"Web2.0" sites... any protections?

Hi all,

I'm interested in how (and if) service providers are protected under
Canadian law against copyright infringement claims. As bad as DMCA is
for users, user generated content (UGC) sites have managed to turn the
tables around and have been using DMCA to protect themselves against
the copyright issues arising when a user posts a copyrighted content
on a site such as YouTube. Would YouTube be possible in Canada? Are
there any legal precedents/laws that would allow an operator to run a
UGC site in Canada? I have a hobby site that's growing and I'm worried
that I might get sued over what someone posts on my site....

Thank you and I hope someone could point me in the right direction!

Mel

PS: Any lawyers specialize in this in Canada?
