Would be interesting to see that tested in court -- I suspect if an
infringement claim is made in relation to any of this that the relevant
section of the act will get tossed.

I did send a note earlier this week to Deputy Leader of the Government
in the House of Commons, Mauril Bélanger (who was my past MP and who I
have spoken to in person many times). It is likely that this was a
procedural issue that any bills passed in the previous session but not
passed through the senate were just automatically brought in without
checking if there were any time sensitive components.
It may be that the Senate needs to be contacted to ensure that they
don't pass this without amendments or sending back to the house with
amendments to remove section 21 of C-8.
Anyone have connections in the Senate that they would be willing to use
to ensure the message gets there in case nobody is paying close enough
attention to section 21?
