  Dear Candidates for the election in Ottawa Center,

  Today is April 26, 2004 which the World Intellectual Property 
Organization has declared World Intellectual Property Day. To mark 
this day the coalition of creators and other citizens I work with have 
launched a Petition for Users' Rights.

  What I am asking is if each of the candidates could look at our petition
and consider signing it.  If you do wish to sign it, let me know and I can
come to your campaign office to pick up the signature.  I and other people
in the Ottawa region can also be made available to discuss this area of
policy with you.

  If you strongly support the petition, please consider announcing it to 
your campaign team and get involved in our campaign to protect users 
rights in copyright reform.
