Actually, Russell, although you keep repeating this, I don't believe
that it is actually true. :-)

When I looked at their last report (the one relating piracy levels to 
GDP), I'm pretty sure there was something in there where they allowed 
for machines running free software.
(Disclaimer - it was a few months ago, and I haven't checked recently)

I'd be happy to be proved wrong, though.

The big fallacy in that one was that while their statistics arguably
"proved" a correlation between piracy rate and GDP, they went on to
assume that the correlation was because a lower piracy rate improved
GDP - with no evidence at all. It is equally possible that a higher
GDP reduces piracy or that something else causes both.
(Another disclaimer - the last time I studied stats was over 10 years
ago).
