Canada's Information Technology Week

Canada's Information Technology (IT) Week is an annual celebration of 
Canadian innovation and achievements in information and communications 
technology, jointly promoted by Industry Canada and the Information 
Technology Association of Canada (ITAC). Canada's second annual IT Week 
will take place from May 3 - 12, 2002, and the focus this year will be to 
build public awareness and develop partnerships to ensure success in 
subsequent years. The objectives of Canada's IT Week are: to showcase and 
recognize government, industry, education and community achievements in the 
area of IT in order to brand Canada as an innovative and connected country; 
to help forge and celebrate partnerships at the local level; and to raise 
awareness of initiatives addressing digital divide in Canada.
