CUIC's Response (Regarding DMCA in AUP)

Well...I see our AUP has been getting a lot of attention here...First off 
let me say that the person who started this thread did not tell the full 
story. His initial email to CUIC was both rude and indicated that he was 
taking part in activities that we did not want hosted on our servers or 
linked to our company in any way. Secondly we (CUIC) does not or will ever 
have illegal copies of software running at our office(s) or on our servers 
and the very suggestion is defamatory. Thirdly (getting back to the point) 
we have reference to the DMCA to cover ourselves in the event of a US 
company coming after us for violations. We have already been "threatened" 
by a major US corporation for violation of this act because of content 
being hosted by one of our customers on one of our servers. We fully agree 
with the DMCA and that is our choice. We have not had any other complaints 
in regards to this being part of our AUP in the 4 years we have been in 
business. It's simple; if you do not want to abide by our terms, then do 
not become a customer. I was not forcing this gentleman to become a member 
nor was I censoring him...see in Canada we all have choices, we are not 
forced to use a particular service if we don't like it. We can simply move 
on. By defaming a company because they have high standards for their 
customers isn't fair and he obviously has more time on his hands than I do.
